Keeping you Updated
We like to keep our families updated by posting pictures and/or videos at least once a week, so you’re a part of your puppy’s growth before he/she even comes home. Keeping our families in the loop often includes sending pics while I'm working with puppies or just giving them some love! A text stating how things are going, or even a call so you can hear my excitement with what cute thing they are doing.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises, which are conducted once daily from the third to the 16th days, a period believed to be a time of rapid neurological growth and development. Even though puppies are very immature during this time frame, they are sensitive and respond to ENS. Five benefits have been observed in canines that were exposed to ENS, including improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate); stronger heart beats; stronger adrenal glands; more tolerance to stress; and greater resistance to disease.
Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is a procedure we do that helps puppies with their nose awareness and confidence. It enhances their ability to identify and react to scents. Similar to Early Neurological Stimulation, ESI is introduced at days 3-16 of a puppy's life and is very beneficial for their development. During this curriculum, we expose them to a different scent each day. This procedure creates a more aware and alert dog, which in return makes an even better companion, service, and therapy dog. Many times, with therapy and early service dog training, the dog’s scent abilities are a characteristic that is required. Studies have shown that stimulating puppies scent ability early on has been proven to dramatically increase their scent ability later in life.

Puppy Curriculum is just as important as their health. I believe our puppies are the next generation of assistance dogs. Extensive puppy curriculum based on Empowered Breeder and Puppy Culture means more well-rounded pups. Beginning on day 17 after ESI & ENS we do a simple 10 step handling process daily with each puppy. Your kids will thank you; your groomer and your Vet will thank you. We are always very loving and gentle as we handle our puppies. They are exposed to new sounds and smells, given new challenges, toys and places to explore and develop. All this is done to build your puppies confidence by empowering them and not enabling them; and to build their trust in humans and help them feel safe.
What you will bring Home!
Socialization is very crucial during the first 16 weeks of life. We get the first 8 and then you are setup for the next 8+ weeks. The puppies will meet new dogs, people (adults & kids), and different things over their weeks with us with ease. We take it slow introducing new things but also make sure we are giving them the confidence to move forward. The better socialized your puppy the better dog they will become. Desensitizing your puppy to many different sounds, objects, and situations is also our goal. They will experience many of the same things they will in your typical home. Examples are mowers, blowers, vacuums, thunderstorms, baby crying, doorbells, fireworks, blow dryers, car rides, different textured floors, collar & leash exposure, grooming (nail trims, baths, blow dried, brushing, clippers for sanitary trim) and more!

Puppies aren’t 100% crate trained when they leave, but they become very familiar with the crate. We start with the crate in the room with the puppies so they can come and go as they please, with some short periods of them shut inside. Then as they progress, we do buddy naps. Which is where they will take short naps with door closed with another littermate. Eventually they will be sleeping in the crate with a stuffed animal and become comfortable. I always say all good things happen in the crate. You can always try feeding in crate, treat games with the crate and more to help them transition into their new home. They will want to have a safe space! Potty training starts around 3 weeks when we put litter trays in their room. They are learning to go there as not to soil their bedding and play area. Once they get it down then their space is increased as they are learning to go in that spot. The concept is to help them transition easier to go in one spot once they arrive at their new home.
